Here’s Looking Forward to a Year of Health, Happiness and Hope | Clinical Trial & Cold Chain Logistics
So here's our first blog post of 2022. We start the year, very much like we ended the last one: with a great deal of uncertainty around COVID-19 and how the ongoing pandemic is impacting both our personal and professional lives. It is encouraging to see that despite the coronavirus-created challenges, people in every corner of the world have shown incredible resilience and kindness.
We’ve seen this response from our customers. For instance, at the very beginning of the pandemic, a telemedicine provider decided to accelerate an important project designed to connect facilities housing people with various intellectual and developmental disabilities directly to their medical professionals. Originally scheduled to begin in the late-spring of 2020, it became clear by mid-February that the more residents could be served remotely – the fewer would be exposed to the virus. I’m thankful we were able to help the company kick off the project sooner and install more than 1,000 tablets and associated technology in facilities housing more than 7,000 residents.
This adaptability continued as the pandemic stretched on. We helpedan aircraft manufacturer anda business jet operator get the critical parts they needed to keep their COVID humanitarian missions moving forward. We also worked with a multi-national pharmaceutical company to move a large supply of 02 Oxygen Concentrators they’d donated to help offset the shortage of oxygen as India’s COVID cases and deaths reached all-time highs. At the same time, we were busy helping several clinical trials move to a decentralized, direct-to and from-patient model and getting compassionate use and personalized medicines to patients in critical need.
Of course, there are countless humanitarian organizations – like World Central Kitchen (WCK) – who have given so much to people in need, particularly in these last two years. Established in 2010 by Chef José Andrés and his wife Patricia, WCK started with a mission to empower and strengthen communities through food. Through WCK’s Restaurants for the People Program, the organization set out to not only get food to hungry people, but also to keep restaurants open and their teams working. With this, they successfully activated over 2,500 restaurants and kitchens in more than 400 vulnerable communities across the US to feed front line medical personnel and others in need. It is because of WCK’s inspiring and ongoing commitment to supporting people and communities in their most difficult times that The Quick Group has once again chosen to make a donation to the organization in honor of our clients, employees and partners.
So just as with every new year, no one knows what this one will bring. We certainly hope that the COVID-created challenges and uncertainties will diminish and there will be better days ahead. No matter what 2022 does bring, we will get through it together. And so, in accordance with protocol that we’ve got until January 15th to send our new year greetings: HAPPY NEW YEAR! On behalf of all of us at The Quick Group, I wish you health, happiness and peace in 2022.
PS: We hope you take a few minutes to watch these three videos created by employees from each of our three business units. Our Quick/Sterling teams wanted to share a few words of thanks to our customers. And since a video—like a picture—is worth a thousand words, I’ll let our employees do the rest of the talking. Enjoy!
